      Roti Side Dish- Green Gram Masala


  Ingredients:

  • Green Gram Dal - 1 Cup
  • Onion Chopped - 1/4 Cup
  • Tomato Chopped - 1 tblspn
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tspn
  • Chilli Powder - 1-1/2 tspn
  • Gram Masala - 1 tspn
  • Lemon Juice - 1 to 1-1/2 tblspn
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tspn
  • Salt - to taste
  • Chopped Coriander - 2 tblspn or required amount
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  • Cloves - 2 nos
  • Oil - 1 tblspn   
      Method
  • Soak the green gram for 2 hours and pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
  • Heat the oil in pan, add cinnamon stick and cloves. 
  • Add onion and saute till the onions are transparent and then add tomato and saute. 
  • Add ginger garlic paste and a little ground tomato and saute till the raw smell of garlic goes.
  • Then add turmeric powder, garam masala, and chilli powder. and cook for 2 mins.
  • Add the cooked green gram and add salt, water and allow it to cook for 3 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and onion slice.
